A Game of Telephone Team and Project Webpage

The “brains” of the telephone booth are a Mac Mini and an AutomationDirect PLC. The two computers communicate using OSC messages sent over UDP, creating a fast and expandable connection. The PLC reads from proximity sensors to sense users and takes inputs from the telephones and runs the game functions. It tells the lighting control program, EOS, and the sound control program, SuperCollider, when to run cues or play certain sounds. SuperCollider also provides progress updates to the PLC.
